Song 2

There’s so many songs and so bands/too many people still holding up the man/like a vagina totally defines us/as if there’s only two chromosomes/as if in the universe we are all alone/but we’re nerinonauts/fucking dreaming/and we’re scheming/ equality ain’t fucking streaming/ cause we’re screaming/I can’t fucking breathe//so read a different book/read different song/get along is so fucking weak/cause we’re dying/fucking crying/fucking flying kites/and bite back/memories & pain/gotta buzzing brain/and I don’t tick/feeling sea sick/hold a minute cause I can’t fucking breath/and I wanna see/some fucking justice/but it’s just us in sea of

Episode 1: Dance monkey

Nope. No thanks. Even though that one live video showed a little bit of something just behind her eyes, I’m not a fan.

Dance monkey is by the Australian busker the tones & i and it is something…

First off, more black voice from white people – yay. She doesn’t talk like she sings at all, more Adelle and Sam Smith nonsense. Particularly frustrating paired with her ‘street style’ baggy sweat suit. I don’t know her as a person, but it all seems pretty culturally unaware.

2nd, why did you write a song complaining about the position you intentionally put yourself in? Being a busker (a street performer) is often a very lonely & highly ignored situation. Now your getting positive attention and encouraged to keep playing and… It’s all too much for you? Then why not express something along the lines of surprise at it not being what you expected? About questioning your intentions? Doubt at your willingness to continue?

Nope, how about a one dimensional pop track about feeling like a cappuchin monkey without even a nod to the objectification of it. Who’s holding your leash, what is the meat grinder? Ugh, so many missed opportunities.

I guess the music video is kind of cute, but I’ll take a pass on the whole situation.
